At the office of Dr. R.P. Quinlan payment is due on the date of service, or you should make payment arrangements before your treatment. We accept payment for services by cash, Interac®, MasterCard®, Visa and assignment of benefits.
As a service to our patients, our office provides direct billing to most major insurance companies. Your dental benefits could vary, depending upon basic services, comprehensive basic services or major services. Be sure to double check with your plan sponsor or employer for your personal plan design options such as co-payments, frequency limitations and annual dollar amount maximums.
If you're unsure about coverage or payment procedures, our office manager is happy to help you with your questions.
Assignment of Benefits
If you prefer and your dental plan allows it, Dr. R.P. Quinlan accepts payment for dental services by assignment of benefits – having your benefit cheque sent directly to our Saint John office.
We still require that you provide a credit card number and authorization for us to keep on file. If your plan’s benefit cheque does not cover the charge for your dental visit completely, our office processes a payment on your credit card for the balance. We will mail you a receipt.
Other Policies & Electronic Transmission
Assignment of benefits is an option only for patients with policies that allow direct payment to our dental office. If your insurance provider sends payments only to you personally, you must pay for dental services at Dr. R.P. Quinlan at the time of service. You will collect your benefit cheque directly from your insurance carrier.
The staff at Dr. R.P. Quinlan has all the paperwork you need to submit your claim. For many carriers, we are also able to electronically transmit your claim to facilitate prompt payment to you, usually within a week.
Arrange Your Payments for Major Treatments
If you are having major treatment, such as crowns, bridgework or implants, we offer payment arrangements before you begin your treatment. We may require you leave a credit card number and authorization with our office.
Patients covered under government policies are not required to leave credit card numbers for us to collect payment from the benefit carriers. These plans include First Canadian Health Services, Social Services, Child Health Benefits and Veterans Affairs.
Contact our office for details. We are here to help you Monday – Friday.
